More Show and Tell? Yes!

Hi there, Remember, when you were a kid? More and more, I think about being a child.

Kids really do live in the moment.  As we grow older, we throw it out the window.

I live. I learn. I make new discoveries. And, I give myself a pat on the back!

Wishing you a wonderful day!  Feel free to let me know, what you think about my little drawing.

Pig’s Knuckle Confession

Good Morning and Happy July!

It is now 5:17, Florida time. Yes, there really is a Florida time.

Sounds like I’m not originally from Florida………….you got that right!

Visiting a place and then living in the same place……..are two very, VERY, different states of mind.

Maybe, I really shouldn’t make comparisons.  The “New York Minute” does not exist hidden in the palm trees.

Is living somewhere, you don’t care for, character-building?

The only member of the family who loves Florida, I mean LOVES, is my Dad.  He can’t get enough of the heat.  The hotter and humid, the better. (You gotta be kidding!) Nope, it’s true!

This brings me to “Pig’s Knuckles and Sauerkraut”………….(oooooh, might make a good title for a kids book, huh!?

We would always, once a week, eat that pig meat stuff with salted potatoes.  Mom would make it special for Dad. This economical tradition was continued in Florida.

One day, I called my Mom, ( the early days of Florida life), she proudly announced, she was cooking pig’s knuckle and sauerkraut!

My response was………….”they have that here in Florida?” “That’s a winter dish!”

This is rough for me to write, Mom died 7yrs. ago, July 4th.

She would pick a holiday!

Meet my buddy “Tangles”

Hi, This is Tangles, a mixture of a mermaid and a fairy. She was created during a time of way too much coffee! Let me know what you think of her!

Can dogs fly?

Whatdya think?

Well you haven’t seen anything yet.

Let me introduce you to another one of my four miniature dachshunds.

The one that CAN fly!

Not only can he fly…………………he also prefers to walk on his hind legs……………something you might see at the circus.

I did not teach him any one of those things………….he was born that way.

Dumpling is his mother, and Matzoball is his brother.

Every morning…………………….you could actually set your watch to this……………….he is the first to FLY out of bed, over the gate and into my lap.

He thinks maybe I will share my coffee with him?!  Are you kidding!

I have to admit he does like yoga time.  He is better at downward dog than I am.

Does your Matzoball growl?

Matzie is the name of my second dog.  He had the shape of a matzoball when he was just born. Actually, his real name is Marzipan.  He grew into his nickname.

His temperment is a combination of his mother and father.

Ah……………..Father’s Day is coming up,  huh!?!

The hard task now is to seriously think of what to get my father.

Once upon a time, when life was kinder to him and there was no thought of the “Golden Years”, he would be a very careful dresser. He wears pajamas now and stays in bed.

Neat and sharp. The mind would work that way, too. Now he will often ask me …………….Who are you?!

Florida turned him into a Democrat. In New York he was a staunch Conservative.  Who would have thunk?  He really was a fan of Hillary Clinton.  Her speech yesterday put a damper on the rest of day for him.

Too be continued………………………..!

Is there life after laundry?

Of course there is Birgit!

(The voice inside always wants to fight).

Being full-time caregiver of my 83 yr old bedridden Dad, is full of challenges I could not have imagined.

There is a mixture of sadness and there is definitely laughter!

I have come to realize, this is where I am supposed to be.

So finish the laundry!
